Need a scoring guard and a big besides Kevin Gray. I think they may have one scholly left. I am mr. BBall homer but even I know this is bad. With this years team winning 15 games maybe? You can't win less next year and survive!
So where would you rate MM as a recruiter and evaluator of talent?
My grade would be a D.

Monty has been a great recruiter. Patton recruited the Gray's. Abdul Nader, Bowie, Highsmith, Akeem Springs, Mike Davis, Levi Bradley, Jaylen Key these are all good gets for NIU or any MAC team. Just because it doesn't work-out doesn't mean they weren't a good get coming out of Highschool! Try recruiting to NIU with it's losing history and 1000 people fan base.

Monty also had NIU in the hunt for Fred Vanvleet-Wichita ST and Alec Peters-Valpo. Both are having great careers.

A D? He's turned around one of literally the worst 10-15 programs in college basketball and made it semi-respectable. I think next year is a make it or break it year for him, but I'm shocked even his biggest critic would give him a D.

From the main MAC board, the MAC is projected to finish 10th in the RPI 04-jawdrop

RE: Huskies @ Eagles predictions
I think I over projected how good NIU would be. I thought around this time they would have been 10-5 or 11-4.

I also massively underrated how good the MAC will be. Even if I knew that the Huskies would be 7-8, I would have projected them around 7th or 8th, not 10th!!! I am happy and upset about that.

I guess Kevin Gray could be on the team next year and not be on scholly. Huskies must add a scoring guard and a 6'9 or bigger guy. There is no if ands or buts about this it is a must!

I hope he (thinks he needs to IMO) go with a transfer. Need to know what you will be getting from a kid that has played D1 Bball already.

Unless it's a transfer that has graduated, he would have to sit out a year. There are not a lot if any that would come to NIU.

222 said a transfer that has graduated. All the above players are transfers who have not graduated from their last school.

RE: Huskies @ Eagles predictions
Cagey, I am saying NIU and Monty can not afford a transfer who has to sit out. They can take a graduate transfer who can play right away. Good ones would be hard for NIU to get. Monty is safe this year but I believe Frazier would fire him after next year.
