He did what he was asked by the University of Alabama board of Trustee's to do.
UAB football was destined to fail from the start. Tuscaloosa is just too close to Birmingham.

Notice UT-Chatt, and UT-Martin don't have FBS football...

We're SO very lucky we didn't become UTAM (Univ Tenn at Memphis)
