In wake of UAB football decision, has Paul Bryant Jr. stained the memory of his father?

I absolutely agree! In trying somehow to please and live up to his father, Cubby has become so much the antithesis of him, it's shocking! It really is like King Arthur and Mordred! If you're reading this, to paraphrase your daddy, PBJ, you "ain't never been nothin' but a loser!"

It won't be long before the rank and file Alabama fans curse PBJ, because his vendetta against UAB Football is what is going to bring SACS down on the university. There is only one BoT, and what has been done to UAB is going to blow back on UA.

The NCAA won't do dick, because UA is a cash cow for them, but SACS isn't scared of them. It may take a while but this is going to bring down the dictatorial BoT in Tuscaloosa.

With the big 5 conferences on the verge of separating from the NCAA entirely and making their own rules, NCAA could react two ways: bow down to Bama hoping they won't lead the charge to leave; or they might give Bama a parting gift via the BoT by demanding restitution to UAB for the 20 years of neglect, meddling and abuse. (I know! I know! Not going to happen!)

Sooner or later, Watts' lack of vision will be his end as UAB President.

The BOT and Witt were handed a "get out of jail free" card with the no confidence votes. They tore it up and they flung it in the face of UAB's faculty, students, employees, and alumni.

The BOT members do not realize that they are a bunch of dinosaurs and a large meteor is about to hit their planet. Evolution is about to occur and they will be left in the dust. It does not have to end that way for them, but they are too pig-headed to see the value in UAB. In the end, that will seal their fates as a BOT.

I agree. As mad as I have been about their statements of support, they continue to make foolish choices. Standing behind Watts after the votes of no confidence strengthen both of our key agendas at this point -- Montgomery and SACS.

He's an embittered, stubborn, hate-filled, geriatric mockery of humanity, living off of his Father's influence & inebriated with power, he and Fess are sickening excuses for human beings. What they did to our football program was similar to what they tried to do to UAH Hockey, but it didn't take long for UAH to get their program back and get rid of that punk***** Potera (did he get the same thing Watts got today or did he leave on his own before it got to that point, I never knew)...Only thing people like him and Fess understand is a good swift kick, which we all hope is coming from the state lawmakers in the months ahead.

The sooner UAB and the City of Birmingham get those two out of the way, the better for all concerned.

Did you feel the earth just shift?

The target had been Watts, and UAB has done all it can do against Watts. The new target is the UA dominated BOT.

Watts has been neutralized as an effective leader. It has now been proven he is nothing more than a talking puppet for the UA Board of Distrustees!

"To be honest, the dragon doesn't consider fights with humans as battles. It sees it more as hunting. Or a snack that runs." paraphrased from G.A. Aiken, About a Dragon

BOT has played right into our hands. We always knew that the BOT was behind this but this only confirms it to the rest of the world.

Congrats BOT, your world as you knew it will soon come to an end.

Yes. And we'd best be ready to engage both!

The BOT really had no choice but to stand behind Watts in the short term. Otherwise, they would have to admit they were wrong and we had validity. I expect them to wait a bit and have Watts resign saying something regarding his inability to move UAB forward with the hard feelings that exist and its best to step down...

I was surprised by a response from them today showing support.

I would have imagined a response like - we will look into this & get back with you.

I work with several Alabama fans and fully believe that they will blame UAB as they've done research on the subject.
