RE: Tribe Baseball 2015
The games at Plumeri are not televised on Tribe TV...the permanent installation of a system has not been funded.
They are renting equipment to televise the Va Tech two-game home series at Plumeri, but that's it.
Until somebody comes up with funding for a permanent TV system in the stadium they cannot televise.

RE: Tribe Baseball 2015
I think the term permanent TV system is a little loose. For soccer games it was (may still be?) just one camera at mid field. For baseball you just need one camera mounted up in the press box and a student volunteer to be the voice. Doesn't have to be professional quality, just need a camera and a laptop.

So, Campbell smacked us around today. We lost both games.

I'm amazed how good Campbell has gotten at baseball lately. They went 17-37 in 2011, then won 41, 49, and 41 games each of the last 3 years, and in '15 are off to a 10-2 start. Wtf.....

Yes but only this year. Their previous coach, Greg Goff, was there from 2008-2014, and left to go coach Louisiana Tech. Justin Hare is the new coach in his first season.

Horrible mid-week pitching...developing some depth will be the toughest challenge as the season finally gets going.

I wouldn't put much value on the midweek starters. More concerned with Aker getting it together on the mound and getting a couple more consistent relievers for the innings between the starters and Gaouette.

If early indications are any guide it's looking like Charleston and UNCW as the 1a/1b with W&M next in the pecking order. Everybody else has been pretty "meh" so far but we'll see.

RE: Tribe Baseball 2015
While I was at the basketball game the baseball team rallied for five runs in the eighth to
come from behind to win 12-8 over UMass-Lowell to boost record to 7-4.
Charlie Gould reportedly hit a mammoth home run, his fourth of the season, one of the longest ever at Plumeri--my neighbor, who attended the game, said it sailed over the scoreboard and landed on the lacrosse field in Martin Family Stadium! That would be around 450 feet.
Gould leads the team with a .463 batting average (.511 on-base average), with 4 homers and
a MikeKatzlike 18 rbis in 11 games.
Freshman Cullen Large is at .320 with 2 home runs and 9 rbis.
The team has two big home games coming up with Virginia Tech.

Great pitching by soph, Aaron Fernandez for the Tribe in his start. 7 IP, 5 H, 4 K.
Looks like we've come up with another key starter.

RE: Tribe Baseball 2015
Hopefully, the Tribe can get a nice jumpstart on the league season with a sweep of Hofstra this weekend. Hofstra last played on Feb. 21st in Hawaii, so, a lot of missed playing time for them.
