As I've posted before, what about the women who blow themselves up? They don't want 72 virgins. Maybe they get 72 male virgins?

We need a Muslim cleric to clarify.

Tom, tell us, what is the true name of Islam? Muslims worldwide, thousands of miles who don't know each other, are all killing people because of their religious beliefs and the only thing they have in common is Islam's book.

Bad premise. Their beliefs don't align with the "book" or the tenets of Islam.

This is what their book says concerning much of what is being discussed here.

Take Quran (8:67) for example:
QURAN 8:67 IS NOT MEANT TO BE FOR VIOLENCE

You're better than that.

03-zzz

Except that Tom,

There is one other issue I have with this verse in argument: "p"rophet vs "P"rophet.

Because I've seen the verse translated as "prophet" and "Prophet". Again, this is one of those cases where I'm not sure how the actual language would translate to the Latin letters. If the translation is correct as "prophet", then I believe it refers to any muslim. If the translation is "Prophet" then I believe it refers to Mohammed.

Most translations I've seen has it listed as the lower case latin "p", (but I don't know if that's correct or not).

To me that says The verse -is- exactly what the people who point out the violence of Islam say it is.

Now there are a couple of verses in the Koran that I don't believe refer to violence (4:76 as an example), but there are simply too many "kill the non-believers" that are still preached today in Islam that throw the "you're taking out of context" argument down the garbage chute.
