Keeping things in perspective
Currently the Tigers are tied for 6th in the AAC.While this may be surprising for Tiger fans it is no where hear as surprising to them as it is to the fans they are tied. So who are the Tigers tied with right now with the exact same record in and out of conference??? The DEFENDING NATIONAL CHAMPIONS UConn Huskies.

Keeping things in perspective
I didn't realize Tulsa had anything this year.. Now I feel it's just one more loss to add to this season.. But I think I did have us losing there but winning here.. The AAC is really down this year and could be had by about 4 teams and I'm not including us in that mix!!

For me it's not the wins and losses so much as it is the dysfunction of the program and lack of leadership that's in place. Sure teams have down years which is normal but to underachieve every year and lack any identity on how we want to play is a consistent problem. I don't get the feeling we will ever get to where we want to go under the current coaching staff. Also UCONN won a national title last year if Memphis had been to a final four or something last year and now were having a down year no one would be complaining. We have not won anything so another rebuilding year is harder to take when there is no evidence that it will get any better. We need to stop comparing ourselves to teams having a down year cause atleast those teams have had recent success. I guess if peoples expectations are to just finish middle of the pack every year and get embarrassed in the second round every year then we just have different expectations for the program.

I guess as a fan, I would trade ten year's of sixth place finishes to be a National Champion. So, they may be surprised, but I would venture to say that many are still basking in the glow of last year's title. I know I would be.

UConn is projected along with 4 other American conference teams, in the NCAA tourney. Guess who isnt? The team coached by Mr "I told you back in the summer we'd be young".

Very well said!! I don't feel better because someone else is having an off year, that in no way justifies all the problems he has ahd running this program. Don't expect to be with blue bloods every year but do expect to be more than mediocre underachievers.
