Speaking of the Batesville School Kids
Saw this on Facebook. A picture of the team embracing the schools kids and having a picture taken with them, and it included the coaches as well. That was a great thing to do for those kids. Many of them will never forget that picture. The university should send copies to all those kids and teachers involved. That's how you build up something with the school kids. It's a shame that we don't do more things like that with the local schools. Had this been a local bunch, you wonder how many fans it might have made that night and brought back their parents for more. Maybe one or two of those Batesville kids will become like Pappy or Karl B, and become hard core fans from a distance, and drive here to see the Trojans play when they become older. I wonder whose idea it was to do this? It wouldn't surprise me if it had been Steve Shields idea. Not happy at all about the hog call, but Steve has a lot of good qualities. And if this is one of them, I commend him for that. If it was someone else's, then I commend them.

I'm hoping so, I just hope he's not one of the bad guys. You know there been a lot of crooked sheriffs in the cowboy movies. Just kidding, I don't think Conque is crooked, maybe a mite biased on some issues, but not crooked. I'm sure he's a good guy, and evidently comes from good stock.

That was a great idea. Just the kind of outside-the-box thinking that will get us going. The kids will remember the picture more than the game.

They all looked pretty doggone happy in the picture, and at that age, some probably wouldn't have been much if any happier if it had been the hogs instead of the Trojans in the picture.
