* Yes they would be allowed to return.
* Coach Clark would be our coach and we would return some of our coaches.
* C-USA would have us back in a heart beat.
* We still have anywhere between 45-55 players still here.
* About two thirds, maybe even more of the players that left would return.
* We would collect money for facilities immediately.

All that said I think Watts will drag things out long enough that we would have to skip 2015 and play in 2016. Given what day the program is restored we would have one or two recruiting classes under our belt plus some transfers in from FCS programs.

Just some speculating on my part. The upper part is not.

Right now we need to hammer our state representatives to support Jack's bills. The one's we need to go after is the ones out of the Birmingham Metro area.

[I know by replying I'll bring this "breath of fresh air" comment back so I can enjoy it again.] I agree, we can come back in 2015. I believe many players would return and maybe a few coaches too. We would be short on recruiting but we would have a national fan base that might be good for a few hidden jewels for last minute pickings. Tickets sales would mushroom, as would television opportunities. Heck, we might even host ESPN Sport Center the first week of the season! The little school that could even under the shadow of... you get my drift. Ever faithful! Ever loyal! Go Blazers!!!

This sounds a lot like Of Mice and Men where Lenny was talking about the rabbits before George shot him in the back of the head. 03-lmfao

Dang it! You don't have to pop my balloon like that!

RE: Can UAB Players Return?
Just restoring football will not bring anyone back (players or coaches), unless it accompanied by some level of guarantee of investment in facilities and some written document from the BOT and President of UAB, that football is not going anywhere ever. The lack of trust is that great.

BTW- I did not mean for that to sound so negative, rather, these demands should be part of the overall end game.
Remove Watts
Restore Football
Get written assurances
Recruit with these in hand

I agree

I agree as well, but I don't see how they can hope to kill the program again, if it comes back its likely for good, that's why they are going to fight to keep it closed. The board cannot directly kill the program, they tried to kill it with forcing us to hire bad coaches, denying facility upgrades and an on-campus stadium. None of these worked.

We used to be labeled the local media (who is now fighting for us) as being paranoid. The cat is out of the bag, and everyone knows that the board is responsible for interfering with the program (and university) in many ways

Now if the team comes back, everyone knows what the board is capable of and how they behave and media will be more likely to point out their schemes from now on. Another puppet can't use a flawed report like the did with the Carr report to justify doing this again. There may even be a lower threshold for future faculty senate members to use the no-confidence vote unilateral actions like benefits are changed and honors program is removed. IMO this was their last viable option to kill the program and that is why they aren't going to give in so easily unless something (like legislation) threatens their power.
