Congrats and well done. You deserved to be higher. Good news for the G5 to have three teams in there in a down year.

1. Congrats to Memphis...well deserved and also nice to see 3 G5 Schools in the Final AP Top 25

2. In another thread was proven somewhat correct...didn't think Auburn would fall out since their Bowl loss was to a higher ranked team in OT and they have the SEC Label and I didn't think a 9 Win Louisville team would fall out since we lost to a much higher ranked team.

Again Congrats to Boise State. Marshall and Memphis, job well done....04-cheers

7 schools from noncontract conferences in the Top 38 of the AP poll.

Boise / Marshall / Memphis / Air Force / Utah State / Northern Illinois / Colorado St

UCF / Cincy / ECU / La Tech / Navy and Houston were likely just outside the Top 40.

Congrats to Memphis on breaking into the Top 25.

Good news that a 10-3 AAC team finished the same essentially as a one loss Conference USA team. It tells me that a one loss AAC team or even a two loss AAC team is way ahead of of at least 3 of the other G5 schools. Couple this with having the hightest rated Bowl games and we are in good shape going forward.

All of this in a down year as well.

polls are screwy - its easier to stay in one than to get into one. you could argue memphis could have been ranked going into bowl season. but making the poll post season sure makes it easier to be in the first 2015 poll, and thats the key to making a legit run at the G5 bowl slot

There were a lot of Memphis fans in that thread saying Memphis likely wouldn't be ranked either.

Here's what I said: "Memphis deserves to get in, but G5 schools don't always get what they've earned."

Not sure why you're calling out UCF fans when Memphis fans were saying the same thing.

not necessarily, ECU was not ranked at the end of last year and still was the front runner for the Access bowl for several weeks. The key I think, is to win the OOC schedule and then do well in conference.

Congratulations Memphis. If you had said Memphis would be ranked in the top 25 a few years ago, everyone would have assumed it was in basketball, not football. Awesome.

There wasn't an Access bowl last year...

Memphis is FINALLY putting some thought and a bit of effort into it's football program. Have said it before --- never seen a *program* move so far so fast.
