Never thought I'd see the day when Memphis finished a football season ranked ahead of:
Notre Dame
Nebraska
LSU
Oklahoma
Texas
Tennessee
all in the same year
Let that list sink in a minute
and florida. the lady friend won't hear the end of it, lllllllol

That's pretty remarkable. Great job by this group. Fuente is one hell of a coach. Amazing to go from the worst program to a top twenty five team. Never thought I would see the day where our football team was better than our basketball team. They should pay the man. Just goes to show coaching does make a huge difference when u get the right guy in there.

Stat of the day.
Actually, the much despised Tommy West reached 25-22 at the end of his 4th regular season, 2004, before a loss in the Mobile monsoon bowl when DeAngelo broke his leg, resulting in a 25-23 record. The next season ended with him 32-28, then he had the multiple bypass surgery, we went 2-10, and the slide was on.

Big 12 fans who are opposed to Memphis are quick to say that our recent success proves little. Ironically, they are the same ones who say our past wins over such as Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, FSU, Florida, Louisville, Miami, Ole Miss, Miss State, Mizzou, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and USC are meaningless because they were too long ago. Such logic is akin to "selective memory". They also conveniently ignore the important fact that our hard-fought accomplishments were in spite of huge disadvantages. Any impartial observer with an ounce of vision can see the tremendous potential that our program has IF we ever get an even break (i.e., Big 12 membership).

I'm lazy so I'll ask here...when is the Blue-Grey game? I wanna come over for that, and really hope any HH members here pull for the two trophies to be present there also. Just a jealous Tiger who saw all the tweets from the Cindy game, I want a picture with them also!!

I am seriously worried. Tigers end the season ranked in top 25 of both polls. Cubs are picked to win the World Series. If that is not a sign of the end of the world then nothing is.
