Wait a minute Tom. St. Urban (THE Man, THE Legend, THE Ego) says if he's gonna be playing 15 games in a season now due to this so-called play-off, they need to allow for more scholarships - like 110.

"You better give us 110 scholarships then, because you're down. I can't speak for Oregon, I can speak for Ohio State. That when they added -- when they had 85 scholarships there were 12 games. Now there's 15. And the last three they added aren't against smaller -- they're heavyweight prizefights. You just can't do it."

In the old days, Most DI programs had 120 scholarships (as a league rule the MAC had 105). Woody and Bo would recruit and hide players on their bench so the other teams couldn't have them. So the 3rd or 4th string guy who could start at Indiana would sit his whole career on the bench at Zero State or in Ann Arbor and never see the field at all.

Anybody have or know anything?

Their Heisman winner QB Troy Smith was almost a Rocket too.

Now it's clearer why OSU ran the Rockets' offense!

Glad the Buckeyes won and did it convincingly. I would not have taken a knee at the end of the game either. You have to take away any chance of them coming back. Take a knee and they use the timeouts. Kick a field goal and miss and they get the ball at the 20 with time outs and just under 2 minutes to play. A quick score and recover an onside kick (they already proved all season how good they are at recovering fumbles) and now you have to worry about another quick strike or pass interference calls that get them to the end zone again. In case nobody paid attention, OSU could have easily blown the Alabama game on the final play of the game on the Hail Mary. Watch the replay if you didn't see what Alabama had set up. It was a helluva an effort to make that interception and prevent the Alabama receiver from tipping it back to a guy that was completely uncovered. Besides, Meyer and Helfrich are pretty good friends and I'm sure Helfrich knew exactly why Meyer went for the TD. If you want a chance to win - just stop them from moving the ball. Oregon would have done the same. They didn't take the foot off the gas against FSU.

This is great for Ohio. Just remember the majority of the fans you love to hate never went to school there, never contributed a dime to the school, and are essentially nothing more than idiots with no sense of sportsmanship. Others are ardent fans just because they love college football and that is the team they have adopted. OSU is on a much different level that UT - so people just need to get over the money they have available - and need to ignore the idiots. They are not going away.

Besides, I still love the fact that OSU gave us a big payday in Cleveland - and we still couldn't get many fans to fill the seats. And the bandwagon fans at OSU, they actually believe they are the heart and soul of that team. It is the same with the Walmart Wolverines. It is the same at every top tier "football school".

If anybody happened to watch the Finebaum show on the SEC network after OSU beat Alabama, you will know exactly what I mean. They are much worse there and many were calling for Saban to resign sighting the fact that they were no longer dynasty and he doesn't know how to adjust to the game. They pointed to the OSU loss this year and the Auburn "kick six" from last year.

As I watched the OSU/Oregon game last night, it dawned on me that it was playing out in a simlar pattern to the UT/Arkansas State bowl game.

Arkansas State and Oregon both got off to a very fast start, but then stalled as the UT/OSU defense stepped up, at which point both the OSU and UT offenses found their groove and opened up what seemed like a comfortable lead. ASU and Oregon each staged a comeback to make things close, then UT/OSU each pulled away at the end for the win.

UT leaned on Kareem to be the gamebreaker; OSU leaned on Zeke Elliot to be the gamebreaker.

Both had dominating OLINEs.
