No this is not an anti FNC rant and I am not complaining about them because they are conservative. They were the first partisan media source and established themselves well before partisan internet news sources/social media truly took off. I view FNC regardless of being liberal or conservative as being the one that punched the hole though the wall allowing for a wave of similar partisan news sources to emerge. It was these partisan news sources that did all the damage that the OP is blaming on the Internet. I really don't for see them developing in the way that they did without FNC.

When You've been watching TV news for over 50 years, You have seen all of the Bias from the Left that influenced Generations without challange of Others Viewpoints. Fox News gave the other Viewpoints that CNN and MSNBC didn't have. Also Fox News offers up Leftist Viewpoints as well where MSNBC runs any Right Wing viewpoint into the Ground. every point has it's side and MSNBC choses the Far Left side with No Compromise.

Card, isn't is just so obvious that Johnboy is so young he has no experience to compare anything to anything. The best part is that given his vast experience of watching news for what - 3 /4 years - he knows exactly the culprit for the internet being efffed up!

With every post you further illustrate your lack of historical context, knowledge and frankly your willful ignorance.

You found one of those biased stories yet, jonny0?!? How bout those lies I spread? What? Neither? Well then, carry on and remove all doubt. 03-lmfao

you forget that this forum leans so far conservative that most of the talking points accepted as accurate or normal on this forum are by no means accurate or normal. It's fine by me because I enjoy telling people how wrong they are, but it is detrimental to you guys because you opt to only surround yourselves with information/talking points you wanna hear.

there's a big difference between partisan news media and non partisan news media. there's also a big difference in what a "viewpoint" is. some are legitimate, others are illegitimate. Some sides have 10 solid arguments for their case, whereas its counterpart has only one.

And then you foolishly act that as long as FNC occasionally gives the liberal POV a brief perspective FNC is forgiven for all that they do.

I looked for a second, can't even figure out how to navigate that cesspool or even what I'm looking at. It's a bunch of ridiculous one liners followed by "comments" from mental patients. Is that about right?

That's about as good as I could have put it.

Tumblr is full of people who have a mental illness. It's actually kind of sad to see.

It's just taking the whole 'liberal' attitude towards social issues to the most extreme possible.

My favorite one ever was a girl reminding people not to put up Christmas trees because it appropriates "elfkin" culture, or those who identify as elves.

Another one was something about how somebody was telling everyone to **** off because he was a male that identified as a man with a ****** but actually has a *****, whatever that means.

So direct us enlightened one- where are these non-partisan news media? Tell us ignorant masses about these sources that hit it right down the middle.

And what is it that FNC is to be foriven for? "All they do"?

Not their celebrity driven opinion shows in the evening, Hannity, O'reilly etc, but their News coverage?

You sure sound like you must watch a sizable amount of the Fox news channel to know so much about it. So, got an example? One? 03-yawn

Wow, what a collection of societies rejects.

This one was particularly endearing.. "SMASH ALL MENS SKULLS WITH BASEBALL BATS".

What a sweetheart. Hope she enjoys her life stacking the shelves with second hand schit in the goodwill store. Alone and angry at the world, what a life.

Yea, no doubt.

What a collection of lunacy. I have seen the tumblr before but didn't pay it much mind, read more of it today than all other visits combined. Easily.

Thing is, my daughter spends a LOT of time on that place. Periodically she gets on some high horse rant, she's tried to lecture me on "do you even know what white privilege is?!?", "I'm not really a liberal, I'm socially conscious" and other such adolescent rot.

Now I have a much better idea where that brain dead foolishness is coming from. Gonna have to address this at some point, no question in my mind it can lead to some warped behavior and actions. smdh

RE: Has the internet changed society too quickly for our own good?
I would say that due to the proliferation of voices, it is now more imperative than ever to conduct a great deal of data mining. Previously, local news was covered by area affiliates that were pretty factual. International stories were sourced from either the AP or Reuters. Those days are passed and opening, but a great deal of people still consume information from 1-3 sources. I think no matter who the commenter online, if you can't link back to a some sort of original source material, it should be viewed with skepticism.
