UALR Women
Have an RPI of 47 this week. They were 46 last week. Keep winning by 20 and RPI gets worse. Arkansas is 52 and Arkansas State is 80 (they were 72 last week)

Only thing that can help us is if Oklahoma, LSU, Tulane, and South Dakota State have good seasons. So far LSU is not doing too well, but if they can knock off some of the good SEC teams that will help. We may have to go undefeated or not lose more than 1 conference game to get an at large bid if we don't win the tournament.

The schools that left hurt the Sun Belt in women's basketball more than any other sport. WKU and MTSU, for sure, and I think FIU was okay as well. No one other than ASU, has a Top 100 RPI. We can possibly afford a road loss there, and still get an at large bid. But, really they are the only team left on our schedule that will be looked at as a "good" win. Really need to beat them twice, in case they beat us in the tourney. Also, as good as we are, it is hard to imagine we won't slip up in a road game or two. One thing that will help us (no matter how many times the NCAA says it is irrelevant) is our past history of success under Coach Foley.

SBC RPI is awful. Its part of the reason both our schools scheduled a ton of insanely difficult OOC Games. Difference is you guys won a couple of yours, and outside of UT Chatanooga, we got beat.

Florida Gulf Coast feels the worst for us. We led that game by double figures, but one of our best players got hurt at halftime and missed the 2nd half, and we lost right at the end.

You really can't. You'd likely need to beat us twice and then lose to us in the league title game. (Again, I see nothing terribly wrong with this)

Women's basketball is an afterthought at the schools left in the Belt other than ASU and UALR. In one way, it's nice to know we'll have a shot at the NCAA bid every year, but the lack of competition will hurt us in the end. It will make it extremely hard to get an at-large bid from this league. Do you see anyone else in the league that gives a darn about lady's basketball?

Honestly? Texas State maybe...but even they have yet to really compare to the two of us. I like what App is doing, and their history says they will never allow any sport to completely suck. UTA's made some progress this year. The rest of the league though? The money will go other places. (Primarily football)

Heck, the only reason our Women's team is even getting any attention here right now is because the Men's team sucks. We've got one more year of Gamble after this one. I wonder quietly whether or not Boyer will be able to keep us where we are once she graduates.

It is somewhat ironic. I thought the schools we lost would really hurt us in men's basketball. Right now, GaSt is as good as anyone we lost, and UTA and GaSouthern look like pretty strong additions. But we haven't come close to replacing MTSU or WKU in women's basketball.

And we blew a double digit lead tonight and lost to App State in Boone on a last second shot. You guys are all alone in first.

Well I'm glad we are in first at least right now, but it would have been something if both had been undefeated in conference when they meet later this month. Might have created some unusual interest in the game.

I think the altitude got us tonight. Up by 10 plus with 5 minutes left. Looked exhausted a couple minutes later.

App is a difficult place to play, but we shouldn't have lost this one.

RE: UALR Women
It was nice the guys got the win over troy. But nobody is talking about what the women did tonight. Troy and asu were 6-1 in sbc and troy was averging 75 points a game.UALR dismantled troy 82-56. UALR could have won by 35 easily but the starters came out with 10 minutes or so to play. Asu lost and both teams are 6-2 in sbc.

Oh, btw, UALR women are on the sports front page. ua women are on page 5. Some of you guys complain when UALR does not get coverage but i seldom see any praise when the paper gives UALR good, deserved coverage.

Maybe that's proof that if you win, they'll notice(Democrap). Nine in a row, and winning all conference games by over 20 points may be too much to ignore, even for the Democrap. But, Wally small even likes Foley. Think that could happen if the men were ever really good? Don't know. It's been too long since we have been to remember.
