Scarbo: Four UAB head coaches in line to have their contracts extended
http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2015/..._line.html

One of the documents CarrSports Consulting prepared for UAB, after the firm's mission changed from helping with a strategic plan for athletics to providing the numbers used to kill three sports, was a Financial Reallocation/Implementation Plan.

One of the ways that plan proposed to redistribute the money previously spent on football, rifle and women's bowling: Compensate UAB coaches in other sports better to bring them in line with their peers in Conference USA.

Interim AD Shannon Ealy said those agreements will involve contract extensions, with "no compensation adjustments at this time."

Well, another "mis-statement" in the Carr Report?

Misstatement or just another example of what a steaming pile of BS the Carr Report was?

Is there not a chance football will be restarted?

Isn't that what everyone on here is working/wishing so hard for?

If that's the case, it seems like the AD wouldn't be able to increase these salaries with the money "saved" from football if there's a possibility football might start back up.

They will probably not increase anyone citing they need to see the results of the study of the study in case they HAVE to bring football back, then we obviously can't afford to pay other sports more money.

RE: Scarbo: Four UAB head coaches in line to have their contracts extended
Folks, the rat is just getting stinkier!
The plan is to sock away the money... at least on paper, so they can turn around and say (once the study of the study comes back recommending either another study OR the reinstatement of football), "Well, we know the first study was poorly conducted, but we put things into motion based on the misinformation, and now other contracts have been altered and we just CAN'T undo those... So, mea culpa, it was Carr's fault, but all of that money has been spent and we just can't afford to reinstate football now."

I think this is/was part of the plan all along, NOT to "Compensate UAB coaches in other sports better to bring them in line with their peers in Conference USA," but RATHER to spend the money on paper so it will look prohibitively expensive to do something like reinstate football. It's a phenomenal sleight of hand. And, these slimy bastages are ALL exquisitely adept at these types of tricks.

They're ogres, and remember, according to Shrek... Ogres are like onions, with layers, but in this case, they just plan STINK... especially this variety calling the shots and pulling porky Ray's strings.

This entire assassination has been very well thought out and planned, with just about every angle considered and accounted. But, what they didn't account for was the amount of backlash, nor Bill Clark's overnight success at UAB, nor the faculty's response, nor the protracted nature of the backlash. However, I think this move has been sped up to try and stave off ANY chance of reinstating football.

It's past time to push these mother heifers out into the light so they dry up and whither away. The TRUTH will demolish these little bastages. We have to continue to push it out.

WE CANNOT LET UP!!! #WeFight #WeFight #WeFight #WeFight #WeFight #WeFight #WeFight

We're fighting against the destruction of a public university, and football is part of that. Ray Watts is not UAB's CEO, and he will not be allowed to act as one.

Most likely, Watts and St. John will cite the costs of shutting down football (1.2 million paid to the University of Tennessee, a 2.4 million turnaround (what they did not pay us and we paid them) all by itself, plus many more) as a reason UAB cannot afford to re-start it.

This is simply evil. We fight.
