Adding a three point element only raises his game.

Austin is actually turning into a semi ball hog IMO...

He is looking off open shooters when their defenders help and still trying to get his shot up.

I saw that yesterday on at least one play. Burrell was wide open for a corner three but Austin tried to shoot over three defenders instead. Have not noticed it as a trend though. Might be a product of frustration after working to get open in the post and not getting the ball from the guards.

I like that we are seeing more of him in the high post and Shaq in the low post instead of vice versa. The entry pass from Shaq in the high post to Austin in the low worked for about the first quarter of the season last year and then teams scouted it and it has resulted in a turnover every time since. Austin makes better decisions and is capable of hitting a jumper if his defender sags off of him to defend the pass. Shaq seems determined to make the pass every time whether its there or not.

Beat me to it lol

Austin is now a ball hog at least to some degree.

Not sure he has developed the skill set to be an NBA SF.

Still, I have a feeling he'll be on the draft board in June. He's come a long way.

If Tarik is tall enough to play PF Austin is definitely tall enough to play PF. Just needs to add weight.

If WHO is tall enough ?

The Memphis grad who plays for the Lakers

I checked the Lakers' roster. They don't have any players listed as Memphis Tigers. I caught their game against Portland yesterday. They didn't have any players in the game, announced as Memphis Tigers.

Austin is lethal between 10-15 feet. Quick jump, quick release, doesn't need a lot of room or time to get it off. If the defense sags at all toward Shaq or Godfrey, Austin makes them pay. Multi-talented.

I didn't realize they ANNOUCED subs schools as they entered the game. The Grizz must be behind the times. Does Montreal's team do this?

I'd rather have Austin shooting 3's than Woodson. Except for 1 game, he hasn't done anything but brick.

40% shooter is shooting bricks...

Really...

You do realize that for the past 5 seasons, including this one, we have only had 1 player shoot 40% that has attempted more than 50 3 point shots.

Austin stands at 6'8" or 6'9".....but what does the height of the top of his head matter if he has a 7'3" wing span? ....Austin is long.

Saw somewhere a scout declared that the average height of an NBA PF is 6-10, FWIW

Most recent at top, going backwards
0-2
2-4
0-3
6-10 (home against Houston)
0-2
2-5
2-5
4-5 SC Upstate
0-4
0-4
3-5
1-7
4-4 IN State
2-4
2-6
2-4

Other than his 6-10 game against Houston, I guess I've only seen his 0-fers. I know I didn't see the SC Upstate game, nor IN State, nor Wichita State. I saw the 1-7 against SF Austin and the 0-4 against OK State. I was wondering why everybody kept calling him a shooter.
