I work for one of these people. His signature is on my paycheck.

He doesn't acknowledge peasants (obviously including myself).

I think we need to push the business community to declare themselves. Either they support UAB or they don't. Those that do not need to declare themselves, so that the FreeUAB movement can see who sides with the enemy. I want to know which businesses to support. Money talks.

There would need to be a way for them to declare themselves - before the front page changed, bhamforuab had no way for businesses beyond the initial signees to join.

And further: I own a small business. Every staffer is a UAB grad and we have been all in; we closed on December 2nd and everyone was in that parking lot outside the football building. But we're not part of bhamforuab.

For support to grow, it has to have a means to grow.

How about selling or giving out Free UAB stickers to go in the doors of the businesses. Good way to raise money and declare themselves.

I agree, and think we need to design a mechanism to do so. If they support us, it gives us more power at the bargaining table with Watts/BOT. If they don't support us, then declare yourself so we know.

One possible mechanism for which business could declare would be through a twitter campaign as many businesses have twitter accounts. There could be a #DeclareYourself4UAB in which businesses who support UAB football can have the opportunity to quickly and easily announce their support.

If the FF or others want another mechanism, I am fine with this as well. I just want to know what businesses are on our side and who is not. Anyone know of any businesses in particular who support Watts decision?

It is better to poison & kill the trunk instead of tearing off the leaves.

By eliminating Ray Watts as president of UAB the BBA would have dead weight as their leader for that year.

That would force them to make another decision & remove him as their leader and/or replace him before his term starts.

Watts would be useless to them if he isn't UAB's president.
