Hope WMU doesnt get beat up to the point of serious key injuries could spell disaster for a promising season.

Can you say "Alex Carder"?

Or half our team in 2008.

Not that I expect a win against MSU or OSU, but we've (I'd say unintentionally, but nothing appears unintentional with PJ) set ourselves up with exactly the kind of schedule one needs to potentially shock the world next fall.

No, I don't think it'll happen. But we certainly have an opportunity.

If by some freakazoid chance we were to run the table next year, we'd have a legit shot at the playoffs. That being said, there's about a 0.0000000000000000000001% chance of that happening.

Yep. Wouldn't be the worst way $5 bet in the world, though, right?

It's been a fun thread to follow. But chances are the rumor stays a rumor, and the final game is an FCS squad. Seems like the best bet, especially for '15.

Yeah -- like we're going to schedule Oregon alongside MSU & Ohio State - lol. Now, if we went undefeated -- and the MAC had a great year -- we would possibly be vying for a Playoff Spot if all 3 of those teams had us being their only loss outside of against-themselves.

Quote:Alright so I've got us going 7-5 overall and 6-2 in conference play.

I dunno. It's a tough MAC-East schedule -- at least by assumption from this point on. Ohio will be better. Miami-OH most definitely. BGSU with their coach 2nd year -- and Matt Johnson -- they will be Solidly Better.

Add to that @NIU, @Toledo + MSU, @Ohio State, and @GA-Southern (a G5 power)?

I couldn't complain going 6-6 / 5-3. 7-5 / 6-2 would be Great. Remember, this past year was a down year for the MAC. Next year will be tougher (but thankfully we will have improved some as well).

I just hope we don't go under .500! Row the Boat!!

I hope this is true and we find an FCS school for both 2015 and 2016. As broncopilot mentioned, we'd have six home games both years. Two Top 10 teams in nonconference play next year is plenty - we don't need any other biggies, especially on the road.

Most importantly to me, I think we have a real chance to make noise in 2016 with an FCS home game added to the current 2016 nonconference schedule.

I think we can probably dispel this one a bit. Turns out someone got excited when they saw KB chatting with the USC AD somewhere (NCAA meetings?). It would be cool if it materializes some day into a west coast trip, but I would be shocked if it were 2015.
