When Josh was first hired I vividly remember him proclaiming that coaching was overrated (and that's it's about collecting good players).

5 years later, Larry Brown's SMU is surpassing Memphis in basketball.

And on the other side of campus, Justin Fuente has taken a poorly coached Larry Porter team from Bottom of the NCAA to Conference Champs and Bowl Winner.

Pastner has smiled and motivationally-spoke himself into a multi-million dollar paycheck. This is no knock on Pastner more than a knock on the administration who kept throwing money at him.

Back when he was hired he said that he'd rather be a bad coach with great players than a great coach with bad players.... something to that affect. I chuckled after I picked up my jaw.

I had mentioned before that Rick Majerus was probably worth 15 points in the 2012 tournament game against Memphis.

Coach p was just being humble. He wants the focus to be on the players because they are the ones that deserve the credit. Coach is developing and will be remembered as better that crapapari when it's all said and done!
