Oops. Read that as "Oak Hall" and was expecting a Lapides thread.

I was there with sell out crowd to watch this game vs the #1 team in the nation (Max Preps). Oak Hill's sixth man signed with Iowa (who would beat our butts right now) and didn't get into game until 2cd Qtr. Bacon signed with Fla St. and is a tremendous guard; Big kid Giddeons signed with Ohio St. Great competition to measure where a player is.
The Lawson's are not freak athletes but are very good basketball players; very skilled and crafty. KJ refused to let Hamilton get down after a 9-0 deficit. He is a warrior and does not take plays off. Very good ball handler, can slash to basket, will shoot 80% from line and get there a lot. Has a nose for the ball and will get a lot of steals. Needs to add a little muscle not too much bulk. Will be a team leader at some point. Very vocal.
Dedric is the better athlete, more skilled but defers a lot especially to KJ (who ignored him on a couple of breakaways that would have resulted in monstrous dunks for Dedric- a brother thing I'm sure because KJ is not selfish). One play epitomized what he could do that we haven't had since Shawne Williams-he took off from mid-court and drove to basket with exceptional ball handling against ball pressure and finger rolled it in. Great passer for a 6'8" (my guess) player.
Both can hit the three and I asked @PaulBiancardi: Who were you most impressed with in Hamilton-Oak Hill game? The versatility of Lawson brothers. Baxter as well.
A lot more I could say but these kids carry themselves well and with continued hard work and a PG to get them the ball, the future is bright with these two.
Now, I know what will follow: I will be personally attacked, Pastner will be bashed along with the Lawson's, and probably the Pope (real one).
Well put.
And on point about the nonsense in the other baiting threads, let alone the allowance of the bullying,
Reality is...a down season while working to get new players buy in, is normal, and adding new top players and getting first year players into second year players is very good, and it would be very surprising if them is not national contender again in 2016, even if this season remains a bit down.
Yes, the thugs will come...but this is far more important.
My one negative note. I am hoping Iverson never plays another minute. Character issues, hustle issues, respect issues...way beyond the pale.
Two good posts ---

Let's keep this post so when we start disussing how overrated they are by their sophomore and junior seasons, we can remember at one point we thought they would come in and make a huge difference. I watched Shaq play once on ESPN and thought he was the real deal. Always wait til next year!!

Maybe you are not a good evaluator of talent; the film i watched on Shaq in high school/AAU never showed good ball handling skills or good hands.

Pastner should have never signed Shaq. He was over rated. Furthermore, Pastner can not make Shaq reach his potential. It is all Pastner's fault.
