Except that play before the half. Coaching error. I liked the idea to hold for a last shot, but it had to be Caupain handling the ball.

That was mind numbingly awful. 4 point swing.

Well, that ending stank but we are still up four. Good showing so far.

I hate it when teams sit on the ball to end the half, more likely than not, bad things happen. Just run your damn offense and take a good shot.05-mafia

Total coaching screw up. should have called time out for the last play.

Tough way to end half. Seems like holding ball never really works too well. But overall good half for most part.

They've talked up both teams. I don't know some of you get so whiny about this sort of thing.

Turnovers, keep to a minimum and win a game.

I am ok with not calling a TO. But you can not have Cobb pounding the ball there. He is a turnover waiting to happen in that situation and can not create his own look so it takes him out of the play. Passes will zilch on the authority-o-meter, too.

Miles Simon (that name still draws a negative response from me)just said were a 3 bid league with SMU, UCONN, and Temple. Crazy not to even mention us with our play lately, including a win vs SMU.

Nope.

We used our use it or lose it TO, teams almost never call timeout at the end of the first half unless it is a use it or lose it. We had 4 TO remaining but I agree that no one uses one in that situation.

They'd already used one earlier and UC was up 6.

The problem is that Cobb allowed the worst case scenario to happen. A timeout wouldn't have changed that.

When the shot clock is off and you have the lead, you always take the last shot barring an easy layup or dunk presenting itself.

That is what I meant by calling a timeout. Set up a play and get the ball into the right hands.

RE: UC vs, UConn Gamethread
That is why I would have called a timeout to get a play set and ball into right hands. What would calling a time out hurt?
