Many years ago I took part in a pub crawl in which the two guests of honor were wearing fezzes. Everywhere we went, the question everyone asked was: "Why are those guys wearing fezzes?" The question no one asked was: "Where can I get one?"

As I left the basketball game last weekend one of the ushers complimented my 'lodge hat'.

I don't know. I was at a school event Thursday night where 4 middle schoolers were all wearing fezzes. I didn't ask them why, but they were clearly together.

I don't know whether to be jealous or scared.

My son's high school jazz band sometimes wear fezes. I'll have to ask him what he thinks was the pop culture event that stimulated their recent popularity and coolness.
