ooops...
Heinicke normally pretty safe with his decisions but he just forced a bad one, should have been picked.
one scout not terribly impressed today "Everyone sees different things but I am not seeing the same as I hear from others about ODU QB Taylor Heinicke."

From NFL Draft Blitz:
Old Dominion's Taylor Heinicke has separated himself from the rest of the quarterbacks at the East/West Shrine Game. He was accurate to all areas of the field. His ball placement was terrific. He made quick decisions and demonstrated good field vision. He showed good timing and anticipation on his throws. Hutson Mason from Georgia displayed good timing and was accurate on short throws. But he overthrew a number of intermediate and deep passes on Tuesday. Duke's Anthony Boone holds on to the ball for too long and shows average field vision.
I've had my doubts of TH's draftability, and I have to admit being skeptical in what Leigh Steinberg saw in him that caused him to sign Taylor, but maybe if these other QBs are as bad as portrayed, he'll get selected. I would imagine any underclass QBs coming out will be told they're going high (first 3 rounds).
"Wednesday morning [Chip] Kelly was seen in St. Petersburg, Florida to watch the East-West Shrine Game practice. Reports suggest that Kelly is there to look primarily at Old Dominion quarterback Taylor Heinicke. Heinicke seems like a quarterback that could fit Kelly's system in Philadelphia. Looking at game tape of him, he seems to go through his progressions quickly and makes the right reads, but will throw off his back foot from time to time and will sail the ball if he is rushed. It seems Heinicke is not ready to start an NFL game just yet, but he has the traits that could lead him to excel in Kelly's up-tempo offense."
Dollars to doughnuts Chip Kelly has been talking to Bobby Wilder.

From Jeff Risdon at RealGM – late on the 14th (Day 3 of practice)
“Taylor Heinicke, QB, Old Dominion--the quarterbacks here are largely terrible, and that probably makes Heinicke appear even better. Here’s what I like: he’s decisive and accurate outside the hashes. He has a high release point, which is imperative for a QB who measures at 6’1” but looks smaller than that. Of the three East QBs he is the only one who climbs the ladder in the pocket and keeps his eyes up. In my opinion he is the only draftable QB here (emphasis added), and Heinicke is nothing more than a career backup…but could be a very effective one. There’s value in that.”

I don't think they are inferior, but the writer probably wouldn't feel comfortable saying TH might one day become an NFL starter, even if he believed it. I don't think these guys are too much on going out on limbs like that.

You think they've learned that lesson from Mel Kiper?

So, arm strength is an issue but he had noticeable zip on the ball?
I think some of the sailing balls and throwing off of his back foot can stem from getting FBS players bullrushing him. Having time in the pocket was an issue as we moved into FBS play. That *seems* like something that can be fixed.
As always, Heinicke seems like the kind of player that you need to see in practice, in camp, and in games. He just gets it done.

Well it looks like he is getting some serious looks so all should be fine.
