Bronco Hockey vs. Notre Dame, Friday 01/09/14
It's after midnight and the gloves are off so let's get started. Bronco Hockey has what it takes to win a national championship and we begin down that road tonight.
When we play as a team and work hard throughout the week and throughout the entire game, we win. We'll see quick, brilliant hockey all game tonight.

We defeat Notre Dame and everyone else when we play fast, smart teamwork.

RE: Bronco Hockey vs. Notre Dame, Friday 01/09/14
I'm really pulling for 2 Ws this weekend - that would really set the stage for the second half of the season. I think the entire team is back and things appear to finally be coming together.

Not saying I think it'll happen (a split is more likely) but if we pull it off, I'm going to feel a lot more confident that we're firmly on the upswing.

Go Broncos!

ND scores with 3 seconds in the 1st period to make it 1 to 1.

Broncos defense has been stellar until that last play.

ND goes ahead 2 to 1, but Western ties it up to close out the second period.

Nice win from the looks of the box score. Nice to pick up a W on a Friday. Now let's take one tomorrow night in South Bend!

RE: Bronco Hockey vs. Notre Dame, Friday 01/09/14
let me re-phrase by saying there were a lot of guys with "heavy legs"

Perhaps it's do to being off for a week or perhaps it's a training issue, regardless, it was very noticeable in many, many of the WMU players

Really hoping the Broncos can/will pick up another win tomorrow night and it is the last non-conference game for the year.

The last half of the season is a very tough NCHC schedule, yet several opportunities for the Broncos to move up in the standings as they control their own fate at this point.

Hargrove nets the winner with a little more than a minute left.

SWEEP! 02-13-banana 02-13-banana 02-13-banana 02-13-banana

4 - 3 final. Avenged last year.

No one wanted to start the Saturday thread, and it worked as Hargrove gets the go ahead goal with under two minutes on the way to a weekend sweep, winning 4-3

How 'bout them Broncos?

Great come-from-behind win; we spotted ND a 2-0 lead in the 1st.

Sitting at .500 now for the first time since 10/11 after the second game of the season.

Three in a row, too!

We did not play well this weekend and very lucky to come out of there with a win tonight

Hargrove appears to be finding his scoring touch, was his best weekend by far 02-13-banana

Really concerned with how slow/slugish we looked this weekend. This was not the same Bronco team I have watched this year. I guess I should be very happy with the two wins, which I am, I just want to see this team get back to playing thier game

Next weekend UMD is a very, very quick/fast team, probably the quickest in the NCHC, back stopped with perhaps the "rookie of the year" in Kasimir Kaskiso, one of the best goalies I have seen in years.

Its always good to beat the Irish, but this is a bad Notre Dame team with a power play under 6%.

Alright I'll bite. I removed my comments because I don't know these kids so perhaps I shouldn't speculate. Kovacs is a senior with the best hands on the team so I'd speculate that his teammates consider him a leader, yet he's not a captain. It's guys like this who can make or break a team and it's obvious he's got the heart to lead and it looks like he's beginning to have the will to lead. I said I'd like to see Pitt step up to the plate, and if Bodnar's announced Pitt-Rebry-Tiffels line went out there tonight, it's a good indication that Murray is getting faith in Pitt's ability to lead. This is pure speculation, and I didn't even pay attention to lines because I was 15 feet from the TV. I saw that we played heavy, physical games vs. ND, and with the holiday season upon us, I'll take heavy legs if we can make clean, heavy checks and rack up wins. Hargrove played incredibly well both games, and we need Novak and everyone to buy-in asap, and we need Murray's captain's, and all team leaders, and every player from the bottom up and top down, to focus and to work as hard as possible over the next couple months. We need to warm up slow and then work quickly with focus. Then laugh, stretch, laugh, eat well, laugh, sleep well. We've got an elite team and it's time to work.

Go Broncos.
