PHILADELPHIA -- The University of Delaware put in its best effort of the young season Saturday evening but couldn’t come up with the upset win as the Blue Hens battled Virginia Tech to overtime before falling 74-66 in the final round of the Philly Hoop Group Classic at The Palestra.

The young Hens, who had lost three games this season by an average of 23.3 points per game, put a scare into the Atlantic Coast Conference contender Hokies before dropping the non-league decision and falling to 1-4 on the season.
