Questions for MT Fans
Hey Blue Raiders,
I plan on traveling out to Tennessee for the Charlotte game next weekend, just wondering where the best places to grab a few drinks before the game would be, along with parking tips and any other help.
Thanks!

If you get there a little early there is a parking lot almost across from the arena but after that it's walk time. I've had to park so far away that I questioned going to the game before. Murfreesboro shares a common place to eat with bowling green called Toots, they have good food and great wings

On the corner of Middle Tennessee Blvd and Main Street there is a great bar/grille called The Boulevard, it is very popular on gamedays. They've got a huge assortment of drinks and good eats and I enjoy going there before games. It's maybe a 5 minute drive from the Murphy Center, not much more than a mile I'd say. Very close by.

Toots sucks in my opinion. Greasy nasty place. I married a girl from down there, she took me to a place that sold smoked wings. It was really good. Decked out in mtsu gear as well. I'm sure it's a good place before the game. Not sure on the drink aspect though.

You can't go wrong with Toots but I would eat at The Boulevard right next to campus on the corner Middle Tennessee and Main. Better beer and bourbom selections and a much bigger menu than Toots. As long as you don't mind paying $5.the main lot next to Murphy center should be open so I wouldn't worry about parking.

RE: Questions for MT Fans
I've always liked Toots, never had a problem there with food or service - corner of Medical Center Pkwy and NW Broad. Boulevard is good - corner of East Main and Middle Tennessee Blvd. Slick Pig, a little further east on East Main for smoked wings can't go wrong there. Also, there's a mexican restaurant just west of the NW corner of Greenland and Middle Tennessee, LaSiesta, which is good (just redid their menu this past fall) and I always get good service.
Culvers, good burger place, on Medical Center Pkwy, has a pretty good deal if MT hits 7 threes in a game, which has been quite often - just present your game ticket.

I remember watching a game a year or two ago (might have been when we played MT), and I found the Toots ads hilarious. I laughed like a 10 year old.

Culvers is my favorite restaurant in the Boro. Very, very good food. There's also one on Rutherford Blvd by the Walmart near MTSU.

Speaking of going to MT games. I was looking at your ticket website to get tickets for WKU game and it seems you cannot buy general admission tickets online. Only the reserved seats. Wonder why that is? It is essentially making me buy reserved seats in the MT fan section instead of getting a GA ticket where all the visitors usually sit in the endzone.

I'd go through WKU's ticket office if you want to get good seats. If not, WKU section is usually section J/K area (that baseline).
There aren't any general admission tickets available for most games, and I think probably for WKU too. The lower bowl is what they try to sell first, and then GA is just bleacher seats.

Your best bet for food would be to go to the boro, turn right. Then drive about 100 miles to Bowling Green. Then you can swing into a place called Smokey Pig. Not much as far as brew selection, but the best BBQ in the country.
I kid. TheBLVD is not bad for the boro.

Section J and K have been allotted to our ticket office. Most of Jis gone from what I have heard.

Yeah, that's what I figured. The best best would be to just look there, or around there.

Got four tickets from the WKU Ticket office. They were cheaper than buying from MTSU and no ticketmaster fees!

Believe what you will, I have been all around the country, including Memphis, KC, N Carolina, etc. and nothing beats it. Granted smokey pig is not the best "Monroe County" style BBQ joint. Have to goto Monroe County for that, but still beats the rest.
One of the best of the rest was a lil place up in South Bend. Forget the name, but his ribs were pretty great.
He had been displaced from NOLA after Katrina. Never went home. His Q was too good, I knew he couldn't have been from the north.
