I guess I see it as a chicken and egg scenario. I'd like to see us competing for a division title before I'm going to worry about the OOC stuff.
Sure, a game with a Big 10 opponent in the convo would be great and raucous, but in the short term I'm more interested in seeing the Convo filling up because the Huskies are winning..
Feb 28th, CMU at NIU This is the game to watch for a resurgence. Pack the house!
I thought the Toledo game was the one you had circled?
It was but a few things have changed. NIU is going to need some more time to generate a buzz, and they are going to take a good share of lumps early in the season here with the brutally tough schedule. There wont be enough wins early on to generate a buzz in time for Toledo. Second, I think Toledo is proving that they are not as complete of a team as once thought. They are a very good team but are no longer hands down favorites to win the MAC imo. A Saturday night in February vs CMU, if both NIU and CMU are still in contention for a top 4 seed, has the potential to draw big I think.

I like to read Korcek's smack talk. That's what is is...he has been there and is NIU prior to the Internet world...I love his homerism. We need more like him.

That's very true. I should cut him more slack.....
Korcek is like the Grandpa who tells the same stories at every family get-together, and you're like "C'mon Grampa, we've heard that one a million times before!" But at the end of the day, he's still Grandpa, right?
BTW, the stories of the Huskie victories of yore are pretty good too..

You are so right. My grandfather told stories of Jim Thorpe, Red and
Bronco and we rolled our eyes.

Old man rambling can be some of the best rambling.

Mike is perfect for our institutional history. Everybody else moves on after a couple of years. Old friends are better than new friends because they know where you have been and have grown with you. NIU needs old friends.

Ha, I wasn't being specific to Mike, just being general about rambling.
It's great when people share stories of old glory, no doubt. I have a degree in history. That's mostly old glory sharing.
