What ever happened to families taking care of their own instead of the working puplic always floating the bill. Don't get me wrong, I'm ok with having my tax dollars help the mentally ill and elderly in this country. What I'm more concerned with NOT helping those individuals who don't help themselves.

Cancel food stamps and open shelters and soup kitchens. Instead of paying farmers to not grow crops, pay them for the fresh food that feeds the soup kitchens.

we were already taking care of them until the 80s when we decided to shut down the mental hospitals and put a bunch of them out on the street.

We have no evidence this guy was mentally ill. He had custody, so he couldn't have been a basket case. This was simply a hideous murder.

Well, except the complaint was that we weren't taking care of them. Simply institutionalizing them and throwing away the key.

So yea, now it's damn near impossible to have someone "committed" unless they have violated the law or present an "imminent" threat which is darn hard to prove from what I understand.
