Hopefully this will help out our secondary next year!

That could be good news! Was he a starter? Any interceptions last season? Do we know his size?

This, and a healthy Cheatam Norrils should be positives for next season. Along with coaching up the secondary to look for the ball, and eliminate so many missed coverages...

He was UAB's second leading tackler. I like this get, especially since he can play right away. Any more from UAB, maybe?

Amen! He looks to break on the ball extremely well.. Just looking at his HS clips he looks a lot better than anything we currently have on the roster at CB

...and get some speed back there so that when the pass IS caught for a 20 yard gain, we tackle the receiver instead of letting it turn into a 40+ yard play.
Would love to see us sign a JUCO who can also step right in next season in the secondary--with Norrils hopefully back & healthy, that would give us 3/4 "new" players in the defensive backfield. I really can't see more than 1 of the guys who played back there this past season starting again next season.

RE: FB transfer
Kind of off topic, but I wonder why Delando Johnson hasn't seen more action at Safety? Granted, I'm only seeing games on TV, but when he is in, he tends to be making plays. One of the recent articles leading up to the bow game talked about Rodgers and how he was moved from CB to S...Campbell mentioned how he's only scratching the surface in regard to talent, etc. He's also made plays this season, but looked like someone out of the stands stole his uni and played for him in the bowl game. He took an awful angle on one of the screens that went the distance...wasn't anywhere close...looked like a play you see kids making in Pee Wee, not D1 football. Shortly thereafter, Johnson got some reps and made 2 plays in a row. Not trying to slam Rodgers by any means...I think he is a talented player, who should continue to improve over the next 2 years.
Back to the original topic...watching the bowl game probably sealed the deal on his commitment. Heck, my 12 yr old was watching and thought he could play DB for us...lol. I read a few articles on Milligan and he sounds like he has a nose for the football. UAB played him at CB, LB & S this year due to injuries, etc. He had 13 tackles vs. Arkansas...hope he has the same type of game next year when we play them. Originally from Lake Wales, FL...same school as FR TE Davion Riley & CB Dedric Brinson (who left the team in the fall).

Tackling technique was really poor on those long plays by ASU. Need to bring in a couple of ex-NFL DB to help out for a week or two during Spring ball. Need better cover skills.

i think just brinson, but the florida recruiting is a grab bag. we've got a few key players out of there, but also lost a many of our highest rated florida recruits before they made an impact (remember traveris cadet, now of new orleans saints?)

No, Riley is still at UT...Brian @ rocket nation confirmed the other day. I'm glad he's still with us...he had some nice offers coming out of HS...looked good on film as well.

Rodney Adams is doing well at USF too...although, his family circumstances drove his transfer back home. I would have loved to see him stick around...he's going to be a player.

Covington who made the 2nd defensive TD with the 60+ yard fumble return is also from the Tampa area. UT is trying to get brother to 3 star DB to commit.

Cameron Cole was able to redshirt this past season after getting injured, right?
