Alan Major taking another leave of absence for medical reasons.

He had a few surgeries over the summer and was away from the program for a few months.

He has had several games this year where he has had dizzy spells, one or two to the point where he didn't even do the post game interview.

Even though I'm not Major's biggest fan as a coach, I hate it for the guy.

Hoping Coach Major recovers quickly. I know he isn't very popular with most hardcore Niner fans, but he is our coach after all.

It will be interesting to see how Coach Odom will do during the rest of conference play. We have talent, we just need better in game coaching, and shoot free throws better. Free throws and slow starts have been our folly this year.

Wish coach the best in getting his health together. This will be interesting to see what changes (lineup pls!) come from having Odom run the ship.

Hopefully there's a speedy recovery.

Get well soon Coach Major. On the bright side, it gives the Niners a good look at what they have in Coach Odom. And if he's anywhere near the coach his dad was, he will be a good one.

Sounds like he may have to step down for his health sake.

Wish the guy a complete recovery. Tough to deal with mid-season, for everybody.

I think that's what will ultimately happen, just don't think his body can take being a HC. Feels like this will be a 3 month interview for Odom.

I hope he gets his health right. Way more important than any sport.

I could see the team getting a bounce from this move. It's had to be a distraction to the team. One of the ODU people was asking about during the game thread on Sunday. If it was that obvious it had to have impact.

No idea, they aren't releasing his medical details. He had eye surgery and a procedure to correct an irregular heart beat in the previous off-season.
