What do Penn State fans think is a bigger rivalry game, Michigan St.- Penn St. or Ohio St.- Penn St.? I know you guys play MSU the last game of the year, but that seems like more of a forced rivalry because OSU has Michigan. Ohio and Pennslvania have a long history together with creating pro football and the Big 33 game. What do you guys think?

Growing up in Pennsylvania, I've got a pretty good sense about psu. I'd say between those 2 it is OSU. But everyone got the most pumped when it was Michigan and PSU.

And for the record, I hate Penn State

Although PSU-MSU has the "Land Grant Trophy", that trophy isn't as important (in my eyes) as the Governor's Victory Bell (vs. Minnesota). Although a "rivalry", I think PSU-OSU is bigger. We definently get very emotional around that game. Either that, or Michigan - another strong rivalry.

It has to be Ohio State, although PSU has no true rival.

Between OSU and MSU, the better rivalry is Ohio State.

Penn State's true rivals are Pitt and Notre Dame

I've noticed that every school seems to think Notre Dame is their rival. Ohio State has only played Notre Dame twice in the past 50 years and yet many Buckeye fans consider them a top 5 rivalry game. What is up with that?

RE: Who is a bigger rival?
We have no rival in the B1G. I do feel better about being able to play a couple of team's from the East....but not too much better.

I would've said Pitt, Syracuse and Ohio State myself. Rutgers and Maryland if we ever had sustained high level success nationally speaking and started playing annually again (well check on that one) and the games were consistently close could get into that list too. At least I would think so.

Been a PSU fan for 40+ years and grew up in Pittsburgh so I get the Penn State vs. Pitt longtime/old school rivalry. But the question is Michigan or Ohio and I think Michigan is a bigger rivalry then Ohio. Dont get me wrong Ohio was a huge game last year but as a business owner this Michigan game is through the roof. Tons of Penn State fans were talking about it begining last fall and they are coming which is an indicator most PSU fans (including me) think Michigan is a bigger rivalry. The scuttlebutt in Happy Valley is Penn State does not like Michigan, you hear that often.
