I would hope to believe that your assertion that Matt Campbell's 3 year body of work did not stack up to what Kent State did in that ONE year, would be re-evaluated...

Forget about Rocket bowl game = part time fan 05-duck ( Hoping you had safe travels )

I really don't think they had the personnel to hang with us for an entire game. I also don't know if you blame our play calling or just poor execution, but the way we kept going to the bubble/tunnel screen with minimal success made no sense to me. I thought we were trying to set Macon up for a lateral and pass back, but I believe ASU was expecting that play. We can run it or defense it, so we either need to pull it out of the playbook or get the personnel out there that want to execute it correctly. On defense, you could see when it was coming and we changed nothing until about the middle of the 4 Qtr.

This will be the last time in a long time we have that type of dominance on the OL, so we had better learn quickly how to execute better.

A few things here:

1. There was a major push on our board to play Bowling Green. Most of us were convinced they were one team we knew we could beat out of the MAC. I wanted Toledo because I felt win or lose, we would be better off having more film for our regular season games.

2. Everyone says that on our screen pass. We finished in the top 15 in the country in total offense, and did it without using the deep pass. Our QB doesnt really have the capability to throw deep. It looks like a duck. The fact is, teams slowed it down, but doing so opened up our run game more, and gave us points either way.

3. We knew there was little chance of stopping your run game with our current roster. It was all going to come down to the bounces. Could we play a turnover free game, while forcing a few turnovers out of you guys. The ball hit the ground 5 times Sunday. You guys recovered every single one. That's what won you the game pretty much. Especially considering two of those led to defensive touchdowns.

I think ultimately that is why we are blaming our QB (Well that and the fact he was cheering for the Razorbacks on Twitter, a big no no here) We knew he couldn't make mistakes to win, and he made two big one's. Took us out of the game early.

No, turnovers hurt, but Toledo's offensive line and Kareem Hunt's running ability is what won the game for them.

Live by the big play, die by the big play.

Yes, but from our perspective, we knew that was going to happen the minute we matched up. We had no answer for that offensive line, and really no answer for Hunt.

We were going to give up a lot of points, that meant our best hope at winning involved forcing turnovers. The hope was, that if we forced a couple of fumbles and matched you guys, we'd eventually force you to pass more than you wanted, where our secondary could take advantage.

That's why we think turnovers cost us. It was the one thing we couldnt do to have a chance at winning.
