I'd take that matchup. Ellis/Deberry/Clark would damage osu inside

Seton Hall as a 5 seed and Xavier getting in as an 11. What a joke.

70% (7-of-10) is roughly equivalent to the same proportion when 11-of-the-16 Old BE teams got in. (68.75%)

So yeah...

Lunardi's treating the Big East* like the rest of ESPN treats SEC football. They must be good because they beat each other!

Good first seeding - gives us an opportunity to improve to a top 5 seed by the end of the regular season.

In other semi -useless early January rankings ...

UC gets 7 points in the Coaches Poll (40th) and 6 points in the AP (41st)

The 6 AP points come from Two voters putting UC at #23 (Cormac Gordon , Staten Island Advance and Jon Wilner, San Jose Mercury News)

They've barely started playing each other. They were really strong out of conference.

Good to see UC in the conversation at this point. Looking at the remaining schedule, a healthy UC team could really win a lot the rest of the way and improve seeding.

Seven from the new Big East will never happen. There are some paper tigers in the mix that will fall hard in the coming weeks. Alternately, the AAC seems to have some teams rising in Temple and UC. I expect UConn will get their groove back--not a national championship groove, but enough wins to make a case for inclusion.

I would really hate to play uk this year in the tournament. It seems like every year we end up playing uk or tOSU (fball and bball) it is in the years where we are most mismatched.

Wilner usually gave us respect in voting on football polls.

I dont want to play UK either but heck why not...we have nothing to lose in that and certainly nobody would fault us for losing if we do.

I would just hate to see us lose in a UCLAesque type game. I guess living in blue neck country and having married into a blue neck family from deep in the heart of toothlessville, this just wouldn't be the year I want to see them. I would really like to see them in 3-4 years when paypalcal is gone and they are on probation.

Screw that, I want a shot at them. No downside and huge upside. I would lose a lot of friends on social media if UC somehow knocked them out this year.
