Unfortunately, if ODU wins the conference tourney, C-USA quickly drops back to being a one-bid conference. Now, having said that -- there are an awful lot of games left to play, and anything can happen -- but I like the Monarchs' chances.

No one will run away with the conference which will mean only one bid for the tourney winner.

Best thing for the conference is for ODU to run through the conference with only 1 or 2 losses and then lose to UTEP in the conference final. Best thing for me is for ODU to go undefeated the rest of the year. :)

Don't count WKU out of any Conference Tournament.

Lots of basketball left to be played. Really hope we are a 2 bid league this season but it seems like the conference as a whole is not as strong as last season but I have been impressed with ODU so far.

I think this is the most important factor for the future of our conference. Whomever represents us has to make some noise in the dance...Sweet 16 at least. With 300+ teams, there are simply too many for the casual sports fan/writer to follow closely. Winning in the tournament really raises the profile of your team/conference.

ODU and UTEP might be the class of the conference, but I would not count out La. Tech, Charlotte, or WKU.....All three of those teams could challenge and even upset the top dogs...

Those are clearly the top 5 for now, which is why the ODU-WKU game next Saturday is huge. ODU only plays UTEP and La. Tech one time each, so getting road wins against Charlotte and WKU to start things off can make for a very special season.

Of course, ODU may well have another Ill. State performance in there somewhere, but barring that, if they can get by WKU this weekend, it may be a while before they lose again.

Fully agree. Any of those teams can get hot and win the tourney and all are talented. The ODU/WKU game this week will be a war. If ODU can pull out wins there and at Marshall I think CUSA may see the Monarchs in the top 25, which is good for everyone (well except maybe Marshall and WKU). On the other hand, a loss probably causes us to lose all of our votes.

Given the current rpi's of the top 4 teams (ODU, Charlotte, UTEP and WKU), our best case scenario is for those four to not lose to any in conference except those 4. We definitely don't need those top 4 losing to any 200-300 rpi teams in conference.
