Well when they have the players lineup and the fans vote who is best based on looks we got the SoCon locked down, but when we are playing the game on the court we aren't showing it. I notice you didn't name UNC-G, I think they were 2-9 against Div I teams when we played. Do I think ETSU could win every game left on the schedule? Well I don't see anybody we can't beat, but I also don't see any games (Div I opponents) that we couldn't lose to. I am a homer but we aren't that much better then everyone else in the conference no matter how we look.

This. I wrote in response to UT that the Bucs can beat or lose to any mid-major team on any night (as much of a homer as I am, too, I just don't see us taking a top 25 team without a post; VCU made it clear to me). A group of athletes does not make a TEAM, per se, and the coaching element has been the lacking gel on so many nights, this season and prior. However, there have been so many frustrating moments this year where the athletes forget to play as a TEAM, and I can't continue to just blame the coaches. The Bucs have to focus better, and more need to give their all for ETSU to make it competitively to the dance.

Most all the past years when we were in the Socon.. even in years we won it.. we would usually have 4 or 5 losses during the season...

Yeah, the losses are inevitable. But also one reason ETSU doesn't get seeded better when it does go dancing.

Wofford lost 5 conference games last year and won the tourney.. they return most of that team and are favorites to go dancing again this year.. but they barely won at Samford ....... the really bad loss for us so far was UNCG at home!!!!

No doubt that Samford would be a "better" loss than UNCG, ultimately, but man it would sting to be that team that loses to the only SoCon team without a win. Then again, ETSU is the only reason UNCG has their solitary win. Can't win for losing, I suppose!

Had lunch (sort of) with the Wofford team at Lexington BBQ on Dec 30 -- they were on their way to Durham. Mercer, Wofford, ETSU, and UTC at the top of early conference standings. Should be interesting.

Chattanooga also lost the Kennesaw, so maybe that isn't a yardstick we should use? (after tonight)

It will always be a yardstick I use. Sort of like losing to Longwood…or Presbyterian.
