RE: Elly May Clampett
When I read this obits and find these people are over 80 it boggles my mind. Seems like yesterday that she was a smoking hot TV personality. I wonder if her and Dash Riprock ever hooked up?

My favorite character was Sonny Drysdale. The ultimate trust fund baby.

Sonny Drysdale played by the great Louis (Louie) Nye. Nye was very talented. Hit pay dirt on the Steve Allen Show.

When you look at the cast the history is interesting. Granny (Irene Ryan) for instance was quite a Broadway singer and hoofer AFTER BH. Starred in Bob Fosse's Pippen with Ben Vereen.

The role of Granny originally was going to another gal unitl Ms Ryan knocked it out of the park. The "other gal" became Jethro Bodine's mother, Pearl. Later to become Pearl's look a like sister who ran the Inn at Petticoat Junction.

Ms. Jayne Hathaway, Nancy Kulp, upon retiring from show biz ran for political office in PA. Buddy Ebsen, came in and did a radio ad targeting her as being too extreme and she lost. Some bad blood there but who'd a thunk. Jed's oil money paid Ms. Hathaway handsomely. You'd thought they were on better terms.
