Thoughts on the Alabama Ohio State game.
I expected Bama to win by 2 touchdowns. I was really surprised by the speed factor. I though Ohio State was faster across the board. I watched the replay again. Early on Ohio State was just putting it to them and had to settle for fgs. If Alabama still had Nussmeier as the OC it would have been a much tighter game. I still can't believe they abandoned the run with Henry. If anything it keeps your defense off the field longer. The scary thing is Ohio State is mostly a sophomore led team. They only lose one starter on offense and defense. They are a year ahead of schedule.

I was kinda hoping a meteor would have hit the Superdome. That was the only "win" I would have been happy with coming out of that game.

At one point Ohio State was on a 36-7 run.

I was frankly shocked at how tOSU's offensive line just manhandled Tuscaloosa's defensive front.

Urban coached at Bowling Green. I personally saw his team come out like a bunch of crazed piranhas on a cow carcass in the Amazon against Toledo on a beautiful Friday evening after Thanksgiving. It was a glorious. You would be an absolute fool to bet against him in the natty.

Most people can separate the spin room from other areas. Obviously you can't.

Tsk, tsk, you are in need of a hug.

But then if I were you, in a job with a dwindling chance of a reasonable retirement, I'd be pretty pi$$ed off too.

Question?

I never knew that other board existed. Some interesting topics over there. I thought you were being a snarky d bag. Maybe you were maybe you weren't. Anywho thanks for pointing it out.

BTW D Bag is more of an endearing term in my circles. It equates to smartass I would guess. Just a shade under it.

Were you being a shady d bag above? Honest question.

Alabama didn't look sharp. They were dragging around. I don't think it would've mattered who they played, it looked like they expected Ohio State to lay down and let them win.

Ohio State was more physical. Landon Collins didn't want any part of anybody in the 4th quarter. The phusically beat him up. I can't wait for next Monday. If they avoid the turnovers they win.

RE: Thoughts on the Alabama Ohio State game.
That's what I'm saying, this was not the Alabama team of a few years ago.. These guys haven't looked that good all season, except in a couple of games. It was like they were resting on their laurels.

However, the sports world folks got their wish.

1. Alabama is not playing for the CFNC.
2. The SEC doesn't have a team playing for the CFNC.
3. Oregon and Ohio State are playing for the CFNC. Both are loved by the media.

The only way ESPN could be happier is if Johnny Manziel and Lebron James was calling the game.

I still can't believe what Saban said after the game either. Some winners don't need trophies or something along those lines. The guy is softening. I think he's getting tired of the expectations.

I think he's getting ready to retire.

He also said that a fast paced offense has no place in college football. So he hires Lane Kiffen, who installed a fast paced offense.

Games are much more about matchup than they are conference affiliation. Ohio State, specifically the pace of their offense, was not a good matchup for Alabama. Auburn runs a similar scheme and gave Bama all kinds of fits this year (and beat them last year). Oregon, who also runs a fast paced offense, would have handled Alabama as well IMO.

On offense I think Alabama team was limited compared to some of their prior teams. Simms has a lot of talent, but he is not an experienced quarterback like AJ McCarron. There is really only one receiving threat on Alabama. All Ohio State had to do was contain him.

Last year he said after losing to Oklahoma, "you know in fairness to our guys we are used to playing for national championships" Stoops shot back "tell him so are we"

I think he phrased it the wrong the way. Yeah his guys are winners, won the SEC, not easy.
OSU had roster full of studs also.

Surely anyone's 3rd string QB could win a Conference Championship Game and then follow it up by beating the No. 1 team in the nation.

I'll give it to Urban Meyer, when it comes to QBs, he has the touch. However, I figure when the cupboard runs bare at OSU, he'll "retire" again.
