C-USA Basketball Primer for Football Guys
I'd like to learn more about C-USA basketball. As a Marshall fan, football has been king at our school since the mid-80's. (Believe it or not, basketball used to be the dominant sport when I went to school there with a run at the NIT every year, and very competitive spirited games in the old Memorial Field House. The annual Marshall Memorial Tournament brought many big name schools to Huntington during that period (late 60's to mid-70s.)

I see that Old Dominion is doing very well at 11-1 against some decent competition and is receiving some votes. LaTech and UTEP are also doing relatively well with 10-4 and 9-4 records.

But what are the story lines in C-USA basketball at this juncture? It looks like we are basically finished with OOC play and headed into conference play.

WHAT DOES A FOOTBALL JUNKIE NEED TO KNOW TO GET ENGAGED IN C-USA BASKETBALL?

RE: C-USA Basketball Primer for Football Guys
Odu has definitely been the most consistent so far, but most of their games have been at home or on a neutral court. We will see today if they're just as good on the road.

Charlotte has played one of the hardest schedules in the country and has one possession losses to Georgetown, Georgia tech, and Miami. Wins over south carolina and Penn state.

Utep has been fine but I thought they'd have more big wins hinestly. I still think they'll either win the regular season or conference tournament title.

I honestly haven't been terribly impressed with LA tech this year. They have a good record but against one of the worst schedules in the country. I think their SOS was like 340 a couple weeks ago. Even against the bad competition, I've seen them struggle. They have solid players but little depth on the bench.
