RE: SMU Game Thread
Crissakes. What's more irrational, wondering what the implications of an unexpectedly successful season while Mick is out would be, or responding as though the question was a prediction, or a supposed statement of fact? Extinguish the torches, no one wants anything to happen. Fact is, the future lies somewhere in between UC losing their next 19 games and finding LD still whispering in Mick's ear in 15/16, and the Cats winning the next 25 or so, and one of those two seats changing rear ends. MOST likely it's somewhere close to the middle - win 20-25, outside looking in, maybe a one and done, business back to normal next fall. And that's the reason it's an interesting question. We want this team to win - you tune in or turn up, and want them to win every game, even though that's not feasible either. If you don't think there would be any implications were that to actually happen, I don't know what to tell you.

well, the Mick/LD argument aside, great win by UC

SMU is a good team that was a quality win and resume builder

Gary Clark plays with a 'headiness' that is well beyond his freshman years. He has bball IQ and plays within the flow of the game. You just don't see this from frosh very much. He is going to be something by his jr or sr year.

RE: SMU Game Thread
This thread sure took a weird turn from a SMU game thread, didn't it? Thanks for getting it back on track, Bearcats#1. I didn't get to the game, but it sounded loud and fun on TV. Good representation of UC basketball on national TV. We have some real studs under the basket this year and Cobb is getting better every game. Time to start him. I smell a big run in the AAC. SMU was considered the best team before season started and played like a darn good team yesterday.

Barring on setback or anything unexpected Mick will be the head coach of UC next year.

I hope Larry Davis is a head coach somewhere as well (if he wants that).

Any chance the Bearcats start receiving votes this week in the polls?

I'd have to say after going into Raleigh and beating SMU at home, one would think so. Maybe not a lot, but I feel it's about a 60-40 chance.

I think he's such an important part of this team and someone who can be huge down the stretch. I like that he starts and Cobb finishes. I hope the coaches keep showing confidence in KJ because I firmly believe it will pay off.

Exactly 04-bow Plus, from Cobb's perspective, he has been doing well off the bench, so why mess with it?

Right now he can't defend at this level.

He needs to work hard in the off season to get quicker and stronger

Agree, or rebound either.

Purely based on principles, I am uncertain.
