Really. Honestly. No one cares. I would barely know they existed if it weren't for posts like this. Might as well be a goat herder village in italy

^ This...I couldn't care less.

Just pointing it out for people who don't know. I'm sure you guys have similar issues with FSU, UNC, Tennessee, etc.

Yes, they played a major role in destroying the Big East.

Yes, the guy who wrote the blog, lives in a fantasy world.

No, the VU administration is not as stupid as the blogger. VU runs very good athletic programs without much deficit.

Yes, they lost to the Seton Hall Institute of Technology today, and would lose to TU if they played again today.

Radnor Township, and no. There is zero chance they would allow this. They are major NIMBYs.

Ah Radnor. It reminds of my late teens (late '70s) when I caddied at the Radnor Country Club. I wonder if they still use caddys.

Are NIMBYs actually that strong in Philadelphia?

Radnor is not in Philly. It is a very up scale suburb on the Main Line. And yes the NIMBY syndrome is huge there. Nova has essentially built out on its campus and is landlocked by roads and residential neighborhoods, meaning it would have to purchase and stitch together small lots in order to expand.

I belonged to RVCC for a long time. Yes, they do.

Think the wealthiest parts of Metairie, but a little further from the city than that.

Could the author possibly believe what he wrote? Villanova doesn't want to upgrade football. They weren't serious when the invitation to the football side of the big East was offered to them twice.

I think they want to upgrade for football, they just don't want to pay for it (and they don't have the space to anyway). Basketball will always be number one there by a very large margin.

The second bolded statement negates the first

That would have been a more appropriate title for a thread on this board.

Villanova? Really? Who dares to ever care about Nova other than Brooks Brothers?

Villanova's a day late and a dollar short, but can you make the same argument for just about every AAC school?

If the AAC took Nova for FB only who do they bring in for number 14 for FB only - UMASS, Army, a western team. If there is any truth to these rumors, the AAC should only let them in if they bring all their sports - especially basketball.

Find it hard to believe that Penn State would commit to 5 years straight in Philadelphia to play Nova. Temple has to play Penn State in 2 or 3 for 1's to get a home game at the LINC. The rest of the article sounds interesting for post FB season rumors for a year to see if any of this rumor evolves. Playing at 18,500 PPL for FB only sounds like a MAC move up. Maybe UMASS has found a savior to remain in the MAC FB only if this is true. The MAC gets Mid Atlantic Philly coverage again along with continued NE cover with UMASS. BB ball game contracts with both OOC would help the MAC coverage in the East also. 07-coffee3

Nova's startup FB program could be tolerated if you get them for all sports.

Unfortunately, the die has been cast there. They will remain in the Big East until the end of days. That conference is a great final resting place for that program - it has everything they need in it.
