If Miami plays a full game like they did in the second half against UB and EMU, maybe we could make some noise in MAC play. That's a very, very big if.

I, and someone else who watched the game, doubt most MAC teams could score some of the 3-point prayers which were going in during the 2nd half.

Still a lot yet to prove, but Miami has performed well in their first 2 MAC games after a weak and inconsistent run in the pre-conference schedule. Both games being at home helped, but playing a very good Buffalo team close and then coming from behind to beat another well-coached team in EMU was impressive. The RedHawks are pressing more often and seem to have found a 10-man rotation that now includes sophomore Jared Eustace who is finally healthy after a severe illness. Tales of MU's impending last place finish just might have been slightly exaggerated.

Miami did get hot, but good shooters were taking pretty open shots. EMU hit about 4 out of their first 6 3-pointers in the 1st half - hot shooting had a bit to do with the lead that was built in the first place.
I think Miami's consistent pressing and trapping defense in the half court had a lot more to do with the comeback - MU turned the Eagles over a lot 2nd half. Time will tell, but I think that Miami's 2nd half comebacks against Buffalo and EMU at least give a glimpse of better things ahead.
Despite a very tough zone defense that is hard to penetrate, Eric Washington and Geo McKnight were able to do just that from time to time - this led to a lot of buckets in the 2nd half that were off of penetrating and dishing for easy looks, including backdoor dunks and layups by LJ Livingston.

TAW92, You are more optimistic about this Miami team than I am. We will see how the team plays at CMU and at Buffalo this week. If we get a win out of those two games, then I will have some confidence in this team. At least we now have both Willie Moore and Jarrod Eustace in the rotation, they are the key to this team as both have the ability to go off and have big games and are difference makers. Sullivan and Washington and McKnight are dependable and solid, but not enough to win games without getting a boost from Moore and/or Eustace.
