Said it in another thread...the Alamo Bowl and Gator Bowl needs to move their games before the New Years Six Bowls...if not in the public eye they will fall behind the Citrus Bowl, Holiday Bowl, Outback Bowl, Music City Bowl, Belk Bowl, Liberty Bowl, Sun Bowl, Pinstripe Bowl, Russell Athletic Bowl, Foster Farms Bowl and Texas Bowl...

Well, next season Jan. 1 is a Friday. The last day of the NFL regular season is Sunday, Jan. 3. If the NFL is consistent, they will play all of their games that weekend on Sunday. That leaves Saturday, Jan. 2 open for bowl games. I expect ESPN will schedule at least 3 bowl games that day.

If the CFP folks were smart, they'd move the Cotton and Orange bowls to Jan. 2 next year, because they are semifinals next year, and the TV audience for those games on a Saturday would be much greater than the audience on Dec. 31.

My guess is that the CFP is too stubborn and hidebound to do this, but next year's schedule should be:

Thu. Dec. 31 -- 3 or 4 non-CFP bowls

Fri. Jan. 1 -- Fiesta/Rose/Sugar (and whatever else ESPN/ABC wants in the early time slot)

Sat. Jan. 2 -- Peach/Cotton/Orange

Wish you were making this decision, Wedge!

RE: Bowl games are still being played!
It would be the perfect Football Weekend:

31 December 2015 Move the Alamo Bowl, Gator Bowl to this date or the 30th
1 January 2016 Outback Bowl, Citrus Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl
2 January 2016 Peach Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Orange Bowl
3 January 2016 Final Regular Season NFL Weekend...Cap it with the Sunday Night Game
