RE: UTEP@North Texas
What does UTEP pay their coach? I was wondering how much we should be spending when we finally get around to fixing our basketball program.

I'm sure we don't pay Benford anywhere near that much. I guess we are getting what we pay for. 03-hissyfit

His first contract was $600K, but I think he re-upped recently. So, presumably somewhere in that neighborhood.

I thought Rice is the worst but they are taking it to UTSA. Rhodes is good coach and is gonna turn around the owls quick.

Lang has really come around with his free throw shooting. He's very good now and improved tremendously from years past.

I wish we could trade coaches. Plum is probably on the GoMeanGreen board. He doesn't come over here much.

I think UTEP got really lucky. Looked like Morris and Vint came off the bench.

Lucky????? They dominated that game. The stats won't show it but our size was too much and they had no answer for Vince or Morris.

Those bush league announcers on that bush league channel were the absolute worst that I've ever seen and I've been watching basketball for over 30 years.

Floyd's base salary is $250,000 and he also receives $200,000 a year for speaking engagements and his coach's shows, plus another $150,000 annually from ticket sales to basketball games. His contract expires after this year and I expect Floyd to receive a hefty raise if he takes us dancing......and that is still to be determined!

I was referring to the fight. It looked like they were two steps at least on the court, and we were lucky they didn't get T'd up and/or ejected.

10 4 sorry about that. Also, why would UTEP be lucky for not losing Hooper? That kid is terrible.

Something I came across on twitter about the game.

Harry Ruiz‏@harryruiz
UNT fan next to me screaming to a UTEP fan: "Sit down, this is not your gym". Sir, it doesn't seem that way tonight.

If I can see the game live on tv it doesn't matter to me if Donald Duck was announcing the game. I never look a gift horse in the mouth. Otherwise, I would have to settle for a radio broadcast and I would have missed an "interesting" game.

He signed a 5 year extension.
