Soooooooooo, in Sept 2012 JJ as the big dog at Protective writes a check to support UA football and in Sept 2013 he joins the BOT??? Sorta like Bryant Bank folks/relatives getting positions on the BOT, one a newbie and another taking over as President, as Jr gets his swan song.

And then chairs the "campaign" at UAB while helping to kill football at UAB. Yeah no possible conflict of interest here, move along
