This isn't some twitter/blog starwars character. From what I have found out, he is the guy with the deepest sources at Uconn AND Providence/AAC headquarters. This news doesn't necessarily implicate Uconn, that is Uconn is the one that may move, but Mr.Amore's credentials are unimpeachable. I wonder if word is filtering through AAC headquarters...
RE: Hartford Courant: "There will be another round of movement [expansion]"
I am starting to think that the Big 12 is unstable. The Big Ten could go after Iowa State and West Virginia. The American could go after Baylor and TCU. The Big 12 then would be down to 6 teams.
RE: Hartford Courant: "There will be another round of movement [expansion]"
OK..... Why TF would Baylor and TCU leave the Big 12 for the American? Why would the B1G go after Iowa St (they already own this mega market) and WVU (a nonexistent market)?
RE: Hartford Courant: "There will be another round of movement [expansion]"
Well since it's a fact that the Big 12 was turned down by UConn already (I get my facts from this board), one wonders what insider information Don Amore has.
RE: Hartford Courant: "There will be another round of movement [expansion]"
There will indeed. After all, there is a round of power conference realignment every ten to twenty years or so, so we can expect another round of movement ... in about a decade or two.

WVU own almost all the eastern seaboard market. Second to none. Plus WVU's academics are suppose to jump to somewhere in the mid fifties next year.....

If you would have said "Eastern Panhandle", I would have agreed with you.

So what you are saying is all of your fans are out of state and adding WV would in no way improve tv $. You make a good argument for the BIG to continue its march to the sea by going after UVa and UNC.
RE: Hartford Courant: "There will be another round of movement [expansion]"
WVU is the Big East opponent I miss most. Hillbillies vs Guidos. 'Neers vs 'Nights. They'd need AAU membership before joining the Big Ten. Also, I think they'd have to prove that they can expand the BTN footprint, and I'm not sure they do. I assume their alumni are largely in places like Pittsburgh, maybe the DC area, and these are markets where BTN is already on the air.

IMO, Big 12 will add Boise State definitely. Then the last B12 team should be BYU. If BYU shall pass, it goes to Cincinnati.
UConn will join ACC when Notre Dame is ready for full ACC membership.

Big 12 isn't going west unless they can come to favorable terms with BYU. Even then, they may not since I doubt they want to stretch the conference footprint into 3 timezones at this time.
