Big 12 1 - 4 in Bowls so far with two blowout losses and a major league choke in a third I'd say the Big 12 is getting slaughtered.

It truly is. Might be one of the most interesting bowl seasons that we have had for awhile.

That I can agree with. I love the unpredictability of college football far more than pro football, which can be very predictable at times.

As far as actually not getting slaughtered, the BigTen is 2-2 at worst on "New Year's Days Bowls Brought To You By The Big Ten", 2-3 before NYD, with a game to play on Jan 2. So the Big Ten won't have been "slaughtered" at the end of the day ... whether they will have a winning or losing record overall is yet to be determined. But I have seen years with the BigTen getting slaughtered in their annual slate of post-season away games, and this is not one of those years.

The PAC12 is looking like the conference most likely to do quite well ... the reason nobody is chatting about Arizona losing to Boise State is because the Utes won, Arizona State won, USC won, and Stanford won, so Arizona losing doesn't make for a "Pac12 getting slaughtered" storyline. We'll see how the Ducks do today, but they are leading at present, and there are two bowl games to come where they have a reasonable hope of getting at least one more win.

Only Big 12 got slaughtered. The conference is 1-4 with 2 games left.

So far, the SEC is 5-4, B1G is 4-4, ACC 4-5, and the PAC 4-1. Only the Big 12 is struggling at 1-4. But this is the internet, and everybody wants to be first to report or predict disaster. Taking the regular season plus bowls into account, the PAC is the only conference with a winning record against the P5. They are 11-3 going into the Rose Bowl, which is pretty impressive. It's impressive enough that some daredevils are going out on a limb to say the PAC isn't totally outclassed by the SEC this year. They are still a distant second, of course, but that would be true of any conference this side of the NFL, as we all know.07-coffee3

You clearly over-read the point of that post.

This is a sports board. Hyperbolic threads are a common staple at such places. Or have you guys not been paying attention?

I agree. My OP was just kidding.

Without overreaction and exaggeration, we'd have nothing to say.
