ESPN hype exposed.

Not that the SEC West wasn't good, but the margin wasn't as big as everyone made it out to be. Their reputation was built on AL over WVU, LSU over WI and Ole Miss over Boise and Auburn over KSU in a game a Snyder team inexplicable self-destructed. MSU and A&M beat no one ooc. Arkansas only beat TT who was awful. The 2 best SEC East teams were 4-0 vs. the West.

But, but Bullet Miss St. is going to test themselves next year hosting LaTech. Surely if they win...that means they play a tough OOC schedule.

We smacked the crap out of Texas in our bowl game. That has to count for something. Wouldn't you agree.

Yes. It proves how bad Texas is.

Inclined to agree, but should slightly rephrase, how bad the Texas offense is.

Texas looked every bit as bad against TCU (48-10), KSU (23-0) and Baylor (28-7). And the defense looked bad against BYU (41-7) and the offense almost as bad.

I'd rather talk about how impressive both TCU and GT were in their wins.

Had we had an 8-team playoff, TCU would have been in it, but unfortunately GT would have been left out, while Mississippi State would have gotten in.

Depending upon how Baylor does tomorrow, the Ramblin' Wreck are the 6th or 7th best team in the country.

Cheers,
Neil

TCU was the Big XII champ ( I think). Georgia Tech was an ACC division champ. Should they both not have won? Ole Miss and MSU became no more than middle of the pack SEC schools. Talk to me after business tomorrow...

So the SEC West is the toughest, greatest division in college football with 4 or 5 playoff caliber teams, but now after they get their asses kicked it's 'oh they were just middle of the pack teams, this is to be expected.'

You literally can't beat the SEC, even when you beat them.

Old Mist and Miss State may never get as good of an opportunity to play in as many meaningful games as they did this year for a long time.

I don't buy that. Look, I've been one of the biggest SEC cheerleaders on this site the past 8/9 years despite me being an Big East and now ACC fan. Fact of the matter is, the SEC is simply having a down year. It happens. Don't make excuses about this. In years past Ole Miss would've pounded TCU and Miss State would've destroyed Georgia Tech. The SEC has build up it's respect and hype due to those 8/9 years of dominance. The bowl and BCS bowl records prove that dominance. A year like this was bound to happen and the SEC will be back 10-fold in the coming years. Let's not pass this off as "middle of the pack" teams losing when the #2 and #3 teams out of the SEC West are usually better than most P5 champions.

What I am saying is let TCU play Alabama, and Missouri play Ga Tech and lets see how that works out for ya... Miss State and Ole Miss never even won a division, and Ole MIss was finished when their receiver got hurt. Lots of variables involved here. Think TCU didn't have more motivation to prove the committee wrong? Let the season play out before you stick your foot in your mouth.

USAFMedic..... I'm not buying what you're selling... Mizzou lost to UGA 34-0 and to Bama 42-13..... GT and/or TCU would've beaten Mizzou as well.

Georgia Tech has never lost to Mississippi State. In years past those Mississippi schools sucked. Wake has beaten Ole Miss twice in the last decade and gave Mississppi State a run for its money in a bowl game.

In years past? In year's past both Ole Miss and Miss State have been garbage. Many folks thought they got as much acclaim this year as they did due to being in the SEC West. What we are seeing is that the SEC West wasn't as good this year as it usually is and that allowed both Mississippi schools to have programs that looked great.
