no tv for the orange bowl halftime show
Every year I always look forward
To the orange bowl halftime show.

,ESPN promoted Katy Perry. The show
Was always lighted floats and a light
Show synchronized to music and fireworks

They always showed the entire show
Without commercials
Tonight we got all commercials
And no show

Halftime shows are lame. But back in the day, the Orange Bowl halftime show was the best in college football.

RE: no tv for the orange bowl halftime show
I said that to my wife earlier. I grew up in a family with three sisters and when I was a kid they were as excited about the Orange Bowl as I was but for different reasons. They loved to watch the halftime show. I never cared about halftime shows one way or the other - in bowl games, Super Bowls, whenever. That has always been my time to check out and chat.

However, because I have such a good memory of the Orange Bowl halftime show, it did strike me as being a little weird that ESPN did not show it. They did mention the name of the band who played but truthfully, it was some band I've never heard of. I presume they were a country band. I don't listen to country music so unless it is someone enormous like Willie Nelson or Kenny Chesney, I have no idea who is who and that world? They were called something like "Little Big Horn" or some shitt like that.

Personally, I always considered it to be lah-de-dah crap. I enjoy traditional college bands marching and playing traditional college football and march music. Large gatherings singing pop music upon an outdoor stage with fancy lighting do not appeal to me. As a side note, I noticed that the Orange Bowl attendance looked rather anemic last night. Perhaps the $165 ticket prices charged to the schools (as related by my Miss State bother-in-law who stayed home) were a bit too high.
