MyBB Austin Nichols "What about his stats"
I see where Austin is tied for 3rd for blocked shots in NCAA, Div. 1. His Avg. per game is 3.5 blocks (38). I see all his numbers going up this year, a little more points and rebounds; we might have another All American in our future? 04-cheers

I like the way he is beginning to play through contact.

Let him do that against quality teams and then we'll talk about it.

RE: Austin Nichols "What about his stats"
Well, He had 6 blocks against Wichita St and 3 against Oklahoma St. Those are two of the better opponents on the schedule so far. Plus he scored in double figures in those games although barely when our backcourt was in a complete mess early on and could have possibly done more if it was a bit more stable at that time. So all in all he is doing well despite having little help on the inside from Shaq

Let someone makes some outside shots then you will be talking about it.

I agree. This kid is going to be a great player. Still has some rough edges, but he seems to be getting some nasty in him and is improving. I love how he plays. Glad he's a Tiger.

RE: Austin Nichols "What about his stats"
Nichols is talented... Only thing holding him back is toughness... I have seen glimpses of that on the past few games... Once he gets past that, he will be a lottery pick.

Mental and physical maturity fixes that. Along with confidence. As you've said, we are beginning to see that. He had some "man's rebounds" in the Houston game.

In order for Austin to go in the lottery he has to consistently hit 15+ footer...Be able to put the ball on the floor effectively for a couple of dribbles and actually be able to score through contact against physical defenders. And of course be able to defend a skilled big man (stretch 4)

I'm watching the Houston game again right now. I had to pause it to post:

Austin's left hand is the rejecting force of god...lol, if god were a rejecting force.
