Yeah the refs called a lane violation when there was none. Who knows how the game ends if they don't call it.

Guess they called that to make up for Temple getting screwed by calls all game

Well if that's what you're going with, good on you. I never said the phantom lane violation would've given the win to UCONN, just that there was no lane violation.

I didn't get a good enough look at it I was too excited/nervous/angry/happy. Good game anyways, very tough match up. Lots of respect for UCONN hanging in there without your best player. Good luck the rest of the way.

I may be wrong but the ball never touched the rim...so isn't that a lane violation?

Yeah. I'm really starting to worry about the Huskies free throw shooting. That's what got them the title last year and it's really killing them this year. Oh well, congrats on the win Temple. I was starting to wonder if anybody wanted to win the game, with that horrid shooting in the beginning of the game.

RE: 12/31 AAC Games (Conference Time!)
This year Tulsa is mainly a driving, slashing full court team. We are at our best driving it full court. If you can force us into a half court game and zone us we are at our worst. We have no one that can consistently hit the three. We can hit it occasionally but not consistently. If you zone you have to block the driving lanes or we will slash you to death. Our biggs don't have very good hands for scoring. Wide open dunks yes. Tulsa very fast and athletic but not very good shooters.

Agreed I wasn't looking but either way we got lucky to win because it was not a great game particularly from us I'm just happy to get it anyway we can get it at this point.

I don't know.....maybe. The announcers never explained why, just that it was.

It's a dead ball, and ball to the team who wasn't shooting I'm pretty sure. I didn't watch the game though so I'm not sure of the situation

You still watching? Still feel the same way? Our offense is good if we speed up the pace with good D, and get transition buckets. Half court, not so much.

Up 61-44 with 8 minutes left. Also, so far this season, we usually play one good half and one bad half. Must be playing our good one now.

It was always going to be a long season. For whatever reason ECU's starting Center (Guilmette) can't ever get healthy.

I still don't consider Guilmette as the starter. At this point he's lucky he is still in the team and/or not retired from the sport yet. At some point his injury woes has to be enough to pull the scholarship right?

Way bigger because the committee looks at road victories as a huge proponent and this was one of the few opportunities we had to get one.

Exactly. And we needed a tough "grind it out" win like this. Honestly I'm shocked we won I was expecting a loss as soon as overtime started.

The call was correct because the ball never touched the rim. The free throw shooting was horrendous. With three of the next five against Florida, Cinci and Stanford, this team better start getting it together quick.

Yeah, I mentioned the horrid free throw shooting a few posts ago. I didn't know that about the ball not hitting the rim, but why did they call that a lane violation then? The announcers said they (assuming UCONN) entered the lane too quickly. No mention of the ball not hitting the rim, though.

Nice win, Temple. Tough break for UConn losing Boatwright for the rest of the game.

Temple is the class of the league this year, that tells you how bad the AAC has gotten.

You barely beat UConn in OT with their best player on the bench. Temple is among the top 4 but I wouldn't claim the crown just yet

Yah, I think Tulsa will be a NIT team this year. Next year we better get back to the Tourney. You can't have a team with 9 or so seniors and not have high expectations.

To be fair their best player only had 2 points in the first half and we were winning at halftime. Also we had some horrible calls against us (not using it as an excuse)
