RE: One Beale Tower 'Coming Soon'

East Memphis has it in some regards, but they're all low-rises (<15 stories) -- Apperson Crump's building, the IP buildings, and the Renaissance.
I mentioned it a while back, but the Trinity (or buildings similar to those above) would enhance and complement downtown. I would rank all of them above the seemingly drab preliminary rendering of One Beale. Nevertheless, I still look forward to it, but I would not want it to be the signature of our skyline, or symbolic of our architectural abilities..
{Edit: It is better than 100 North Main, though...}
Well, I think it looks nice...I also like the Cook Conversation Center renderings...Chisca...TN Brewery...Sears Crosstown...all really cool projects.

I hope so. I think the street level looks nice. Just not so sure about how it looks against the skyline. Maybe it will trigger more construction, even if they're shorter (as long as future architecture aims for timelessness that equals, if not surpasses, One Beale).

Even more renderings and a comment about the material...

The towers were designed completely with glass for two reasons, said Mark Weaver, lead designer/principal, Hnedak Bobo Group: First of all, to take advantage of the incredible riverfront views, and second, glass was the lightest material the developers could use to meet seismic standards, he said.
The podium level, between the two towers, will be brick to match the surrounding neighborhood, Weaver said. The podium consists of hotel services, a ballroom and an elevated pool deck that will be used by both apartment residents and hotel guests.
